Max's Weir

Max's Weir - 32" x 48" - Oil on Panel.

A Fishing Weir is a trap, set up by fisherman in tidal areas and rivers.  They are pretty rare today, but at one time they were a staple of society, when hunting and fishing meant life and death.  When I was visiting friends in Amagansett I had the best tour guide ever, a 5 year old fisherman named Max...he was very insistent that I saw the Weir, so it seemed only fitting that I name the painting after him.

$3,250
